Gloucester Cathedral will be lit up blue in memory of Ramarni Crosby this week.
The 16-year-old from Frampton on Severn suffered multiple stab wounds on the evening of 15 December in Stratton Road, Gloucester.
A public service and celebration of his life will take place on Monday 7th February at 1pm at the Cathedral.
People are being asked to wear colourful clothing to the service.
Ramarni’s burial will take place at Gloucester Crematorium in a private service for family and friends.
Gloucester City Councillor Justin Hudson said: “Since the tragic news of the untimely loss of such a young life within the City last December – I have been working with Ramarni’s Family, to coordinate the community outpouring of grief as well as support for the family.”
“Blue is the family’s colour – it seemed a distant task to ask our cathedral to possibly light up the tower, in blue – to show its solidarity to both Ramarnis family as well as the City, community.”
Three teenage boys – aged 15, 16 and 17 – have been charged with his murder.
