Gloucester City Homes has today secured six individual interim Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions against a family in Podsmead.
This is a very rare but successful outcome, order as it is believed to be only the third case of a landlord gaining six injunctions at once for a single case.
It is also reported to be the first outcome of this kind in almost five years.
There have been numerous reported incidents of anti-social behaviour and noise nuisance at the address, which include arguing, shouting, foul language and physical fighting.
There have also been issues with numerous animals being kept at the property and fly-tipping which has affected both the property and local community.
The injunctions served, exclude two males from attending the property and place strict prohibitions on the tenant, her partner and adult siblings at the property or in the vicinity
Legal action is considered very carefully by GCH and is only used when all other support and interventions have been unsuccessful. There have been numerous attempts to resolve the issues at this address which has required considerable time and resource from GCH staff.
Charlotte Newman, Senior ASB Officer says “We are very pleased with this result and hope the injunctions and exclusions put a stop to such long-standing nuisance. Our priority is to ensure our tenants and local residents are able to live peacefully in their homes. If this means that legal action isrequired to tackle those that behave anti-socially, then that is the action we will take.”
Sara Hendry, ASB Manager says “This is a final opportunity for the tenant and her family members to behave in an acceptable manner so they can remain in the property. We will take any breaches of theinjunctions very seriously and commence proceedings to take back possession of the property if required”.
