A man who engaged in violent and aggressive behaviour in Gloucester city centre has been issued with an emergency injunction

Andrew Hadley, aged 47 and from Gloucester, was served with the injunction last Wednesday (21 June) following a hearing at Cheltenham and Gloucester County Court.

The case was brought against Hadley by Solace, a joint team of officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary, Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucester City Council following a spike in anti-social, violent and aggressive behaviour.

The order imposed by the courts forbids Hadley from:

  • Engaging in conduct that causes or is likely to cause alarm or harassment or distress to any person within the City of Gloucester
  • Using or threatening to use violence towards any person living in or visiting the City of Gloucester at any time
  • Being in possession of any pointed or bladed article with the City of Gloucester

Solace Street Aware Lead Officer Adam Stevens said: “Hadley has been involved in low level alcohol related anti-social behaviour in the city for some time.

“After a sudden increase in violent and aggressive behaviour, we approached the courts in order to obtain this emergency injunction.

“Whilst the police will deal with any criminal offences, this order was sought to provide immediate protection to the public and to curtail his behaviours.”

The injunction will remain in place until 14 June 2024 and breaches can be reported by calling police on 101 or the Solace team on 01452 396396.
