A Gloucester woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection to an incident at Birmingham New Street railway station in November 2024.
Charlie Lane, 26, and of Marlborough Road, Gloucester, has been charged with Manslaughter and Racially Aggravated Public Order. She has released on conditional bail to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on 30 April.
Officers were called to the concourse of Birmingham New Street railway station to reports of an assault on the morning of 19 November 2024.
Dorothy Chiles, aged 87, was found at the station with serious injuries and rushed to a local hospital. She underwent surgery on a fractured hip and was discharged on 2 December 2024 but sadly died from her injuries at home on 27 December.
