A man has been banned from two towns in the Forest of Dean after threatening people with violence.

Nick Hughes, aged 30, and of Laburnum Road, Linden, was given an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction at Cheltenham and Gloucester County Court.

It was handed to him on 29 February, while he was serving a previous sentence, and comes into force now he has been released.

The injunction follows numerous incidents which saw him engage in violence, intimidation and threats to harm.

The civil injunction order imposed by the courts forbids Hughes from:

  • engaging in conduct which causes or is capable of causing alarm or harassment or distress to any person in Gloucestershire;
  • using or threatening to use violence towards any person in Gloucestershire;
  • entering or being in the towns and surrounding areas of Cinderford and Coleford within the Forest of Dean at any time;
  • contacting, either directly or indirectly, a named person.

Hughes faces being arrested should he break any part of the injunction between now and 28 February 2025.

Anyone witnessing him breaching his ASBI is asked to contact the police on 101.
