Action packed days of activities will keep the children occupied this half term at leisure centres in the Forest of Dean.
To help parents and carers the District Council has put together a programme of fun activities from Tuesday 26 May to Friday 29 May at its Forest Leisure centres in Cinderford, ed Coleford, Lydney and Newent. The Lydney centre will also be offering childcare at a competitive rate.
Activities include bouncy castles and soft play, multi activity sessions, art and crafts and extra swimming sessions. At Lydney there will also be distance badge swimming sessions and, for confident swimmers who can swim 50 metres or more and are over eight, Rookie Lifeguard training.
Children with a direct debit junior membership are entitled to a free morning play scheme session across the four sites as well as 38 weeks of activity lessons over the school year and, as an added bonus, they receive unlimited free swimming during public sessions in the four Forest Leisure centre pools, enabling children to practice their swim skills in their own time.
Dave Spencer, Leisure Manager said: “School holidays are sometimes a time when parents find it difficult to keep children occupied, especially if they need to juggle their job with childcare. So with this in mind we have put together this activities programme which is both fun for the children and affordable for the parents.
“Children will be able to come along, make new friends, try exciting activities and develop new skills, with parents and carers having the peace of mind that their child is being looked after in a safe environment.”
