Fashion accesories chain Claire’s has agreed to sell 156 shops to investment group Modella Capital.
The deal will secure 1,000 jobs, but the future of 145 stores not included in the agreement remains uncertain.
The move comes after the investment firm recently bought WH Smith’s high street chain.
Claire’s has two stores in Gloucester – one in King’s Walk and another at Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet.
