Cotswold Estate Agents, unhealthy Jackson-Stops & Staff were onto a winner at last weekend’s VWH Point-to-Point by helping to raise over £600 for their newly supported charity, the Coates-based Watershed Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
Tania Thompson, Head of Sales at Jackson-Stops in the Cotswolds, was thrilled with the outcome. She said:
“We had an extremely successful day at the Point-to-Point. We were overwhelmed with the support we received from our clients and other racegoers who bought raffle tickets to support such a wonderful charity. We were delighted to be joined by the team from the Watershed RDA, including pony Ben, and we would like to thank them as well as the organisers for all their help. I’d also like to thank all of the local businesses that donated a prize for the raffle.”
Prizes were kindly donated by equestrian retailer- Equiboodle, Longdole Polo Club, Kings Head- Cirencester, Wine Merchants Haynes, Hanson & Clark, Jolly Nice farm shop, Cregg & Co interior designers, Côte Brasserie and The Market Garden.
The funds will go toward the development of a new ‘mess-room’ for the charity’s stable yard. The room will provide somewhere warm, dry and fully plumbed for riders, their families and carers, and the volunteers to congregate in both before and after each riding sessions.
The Group is run solely by over 50 volunteers all of whom give tremendous amounts of their time free – so any funds raised go directly to the Group for the benefit of the riders and ponies. There are no administration costs.
