King’s Quarter has been crowned the winner of Best Long-Term Regeneration Initiative at this year’s Revo Awards, one of the most prestigious honours in the UK retail and leisure property industry.

The annual awards, hosted by Revo – the UK’s leading membership organisation for retail and leisure-led real estate – celebrate excellence, innovation and achievement across the sector. Widely regarded as the benchmark for success, the Revo Awards have showcased the best in development, investment, asset management and destination marketing for nearly four decades.

Judged by an expert industry panel, the Best Long-Term Regeneration Initiative award recognises projects that creatively redefine existing assets through clear strategy, strong delivery and measurable outcomes, such as improved footfall, financial performance and positive feedback from tenants and visitors.

King’s Quarter was selected ahead of major national schemes for its role in the £200 million regeneration of Gloucester city centre. The development includes The Forum, Kings Square, King’s Walk Shopping Centre and the Gloucester Transport Hub.

Judges praised the transformation of a redundant department store into a vibrant university hub, bringing up to 19,000 students into the city centre, alongside high-quality workspace at The Forum. The project was recognised for delivering significant social and economic benefits and for setting a blueprint for how town centres can be made more resilient, relevant and successful.

Vivienne King, Chair of the Executive Board at Revo, said: “The annual Revo Awards once again highlighted the outstanding achievements taking place across the sector. King’s Quarter is a fantastic example of how bold, creative thinking can act as a model for local authorities to back their places with confidence and vision. It’s a testament to the efforts of an exceptional team, and many congratulations on this huge success.”

Gloucester City Council leader Jeremy Hilton also welcomed the recognition, calling it a major moment for the city.

“This is more wonderful news to celebrate about Gloucester,” he said. “Winning this highly prestigious award is a huge achievement and a testament to the vision and hard work behind King’s Quarter and the Forum. To come out on top against major national projects like Wembley Park shows just how ambitious and transformative this development has been for our city.”
