After a raft of submissions, malady five of Gloucestershire’s hottest bands have been selected to take part in a battle of the bands competition to win a place on the bill of Underground Festival 2015.
The annual festival, stuff held at Gloucester Guildhall, showcases the very best up and coming artists on the underground scene and in the past has featured the likes of Bastille, Mallory Knox, Pulled Apart by Horses, George Ezra and Raleigh Ritchie.
This year’s event is taking place on Saturday 26th September and Sunday 27th September.
Fighting for the accolade of opening the main stage on the Saturday will be Four Dead Crows, Freefall, Because, New Carnival and Body Clocks.
Dan Charles, who organises Underground Festival, said: “I have to say a big thank you to everyone who applied to take part in this competition, we had dozens of submissions.
“Whittling them down to just five was a tough task but now we have an exciting line-up of the best up and coming acts in the county.
Cllr Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council said, “It’s going to be a great competition and a real celebration of local music all in one great show.”
The five acts will each play a 15 minute set at the competition which is being held at Cafe Rene on Wednesday July 8th from 9pm. Entry is free and all are welcome to attend.
