Gloucestershire County Council is advising residents and motorists about an overnight closure on the M50 westbound.
National Highways says the road will be closed between M5 Junction 8 and M50 Junction 2 from 9pm on Sunday 21 June until 6am the following morning.
A signed diversion route will take traffic through Gloucester, where works are already taking place on Over Bridge.
Councillor Mark Harris said the council is aware the closure may cause extra disruption, especially for Forest of Dean communities and people travelling through Gloucester overnight.
Motorists are being urged to allow extra time and follow the signed diversion.
