Eastington

Work is well underway at a new development near Stroud, viagra 40mg bringing much-needed homes to the area and helping to beat the housing shortage.

The Newland Homes development in Eastington will be delivering a total of 30 homes, find of which nine will be taken on by Two Rivers Housing.  Five will be available through affordable rent, order and the remaining  four will be for Shared Ownership, a part-rent, part-buy option, giving people the opportunity to take their first step on the housing ladder, as well as taking the strain off paying a large mortgage.

Situated four miles from Stroud, Eastington has won the accolade of the most vibrant village in Gloucestershire.  With rising house prices rising in rural areas, young people are often priced out of the communities they grew up in.  These new homes will offer locals the opportunity to remain in the village and help to boost the local economy.

The nine Two Rivers Housing homes at the Swallowcroft site will include nine two bed houses, seven suitable for four people and two suitable for three.

Stephen Ingram, Development Manager at Two Rivers Housing said: “We’re pleased to play our part in providing homes people can afford in this popular village, which also helps to support the vital amenities and, in turn, helps the community to prosper.  This scheme will bring much-needed homes to Eastington, giving local people the opportunity to live closer to friends and family.”

Along with the nine homes at Eastington, Two Rivers Housing has plans to build around 300 homes between now and March 2018 across Gloucestershire.  Other housing associations across the country are also helping to beat the shortage, and Gloucester City Homes has 33 new houses due for completion in 2016.

The National Housing Federation’s Community Impact Week, from Monday 16 until Friday 20 November highlights the positive contributions housing associations make to communities.  These not-for-profit organisations provide affordable homes for those who need it, invest in neighbourhoods and build more properties.  Last year they built one in every three houses across the country, providing homes for more than five million people.
