Chilling footage of Gloucester serial murderer Fred West returning to 25 Cromwell Street with police investigators is featured in a new Netflix documentary.
The previously unseen footage recorded by Gloucestershire Constabulary as part of its investigation shows how the force was able to unearth the remains of the West’s 12 victims to build a case against them that would bring closure for the families of the victims.
The series features family members of some of the victims – a few of whom are speaking for the first time – giving insight into the pain and torment they went through for decades. From discovering that their missing loved ones were brutally murdered, to the trauma they experienced and the strength they displayed during the trial.
Fred and Rose West tortured, raped and murdered an unknown number of women between 1967 and 1987, mostly at their home in Gloucester.
Grim footage shows Fred West return to 25 Cromwell Street where he smiles and laughs at where he buried his victims in his garden and cellar.
The documentary is directed by Dan Dewsbury, who worked on Hatton and Louis Theroux’s Forbidden America, and executive produced by Dan Chambers, David Herman and Fiona Stourton.
