Fun day trips to exciting attractions and activities across many of Cheltenham’s local parks will keep the children entertained during the school summer holidays, capsule thanks to the play development team at Cheltenham Borough Council.
There are spaces remaining on day trips to Weston Super Mare and Sea life on Thursday 14 August and Far Peak rock climbing on Wednesday 13 August. Both trips are suitable for ages 6-12 and cost £20 per child.
There are also spaces available on the day trip to Battlesports in Gloucester on Tuesday 19 August. This is also £20 per child and suitable for ages 7-12 years old.
Play rangers will also be available in parks throughout Cheltenham for play sessions taking place between the times of 11.30am – 4pm. The sessions cater for toddlers, pharmacy all the way up to twelve-year-olds and will involve activities such as face painting and giant outdoor games, treatment as well as other arts and crafts. · Monday – Naunton Park and Swindon Village Park
· Tuesday – Montpellier Gardens and Clyde Crescent recreational ground
· Wednesday – Pittville Park and Springfields Park
· Thursday – King George V fields in Rowanfield and Queen Elizabeth 2 playing fields, Battledown
· Friday – The Grange Park in Charlton Kings and Benhall Park.
Laura Loving, play development officer at Cheltenham Borough Council said: “There are still spaces on the day trips for children to get involved in exciting activities. At a very reasonable price, these trips offer Children a chance to develop and learn as well as enjoy a thrilling day out.”
“I would also highly recommend the daytime activities at the parks. The play rangers are providing drop in sessions that cater for a wide range of sporting interest, so there is plenty for the children to try over the week.”
