A new chapter of Scandinavian style is coming to Gloucester Quays as Danish homeware brand Søstrene Grene prepares to open its doors on Friday.
The much-loved lifestyle retailer, famous for its calming stores and minimalist yet creative design, is expanding its UK presence with the launch of its second Gloucestershire location, following the success of its Cheltenham branch, which opened in 2023.
Founded in Denmark in 1973, Søstrene Grene has built a global following with over 350 stores across 17 countries. Its collections include affordable furniture, kitchenware, stationery, and seasonal décor – all designed to bring a touch of “hygge”, the Danish concept of comfort and wellbeing, into everyday life.
The new Gloucester store will showcase the brand’s distinctive ‘Retail for the Senses’ concept, featuring soft lighting, gentle classical music and a carefully designed maze-like layout that encourages slow shopping and quiet moments of inspiration.
The new store opens on Friday 14 November, bringing a slice of Scandinavian serenity to the heart of Gloucester’s historic docks.
