Independent opticians, Stroud Vision Centre incorporating Limberick Opticians, are celebrating 100 years of service in the local community.
Limberick Opticians, established in 1924, remained a testament to independent eyecare and eyewear over the decades, forming strong ties with patients in the Stroud community before joining forces with Stroud Vision Centre in a bid to safeguard the future of independent eyecare in the area.
To commemorate their anniversary, the team held an event on Saturday 20th July with attendees being treated to a slice of cake, goodie bags and refreshments as well as enhanced eye exams available on the day using their new OCT machine.
The event was also attended by Tony Davey, Mayor of Stroud, who performed a ribbon cutting ceremony in honour of the practice’s anniversary.
Over the past century, the practice has adapted to the constant changes and developments of the optical industry, not only demonstrated in their joining forces but more recently in their investment of two new team members and providing the practice with a fresh new refurbishment.
Practice Manager and Director, Anita Herring, added: “Over the years, our goal has always been to provide exceptional eyecare services, and these improvements allow us to better serve our patients and meet their needs more effectively.
“We’re incredibly proud of our longstanding heritage but it is only a result of loyalty and dedication through generations of patients. To continuously care for the eyecare needs of the Stroud community, we believe it is our duty to remain ahead of advancements in the optical industry, constantly strive for higher standards and give back to our local community whenever possible.”
