The grounds of Sudeley Castle & Gardens have been transformed once again as the Spectacle of Light returns with a brand-new theme inspired by the legend of Camelot.

Marking its 10th anniversary, this year’s trail invites visitors into a world of Arthurian myth and magic, complete with a glowing sword installation, enchanted woodland, mythical creatures and dramatic large-scale projections. The experience runs until 30 December 2025.

Characters from King Arthur’s Round Table appear along the route, sharing stories of chivalry as guests follow the illuminated trail through the castle’s historic gardens. A highlight includes a striking projection across the water depicting Camelot’s knights, set against the atmospheric ruins of the Tithe Barn.

Founder Nic Beeby said the milestone year called for a fittingly grand theme: “This year’s trail takes its inspiration from King Arthur, bringing to life historic storytelling through specially commissioned light installations, reflecting the rich history of Sudeley Castle with remarkable visual features and stunning landscapes.”

Visitors can also enjoy festive food and warming winter treats as they explore the castle grounds, which date back more than 1,000 years and were once home to Queen Katherine Parr, the last wife of Henry VIII.
