Listeners to Sunshine Radio on AM will need to re-tune from today.
The commerical radio station is turning off its 855AM transmitter on January 19th following a long consultation with Ofcom.
The decision comes as part of the station’s ongoing efforts to modernize its broadcasting technology and improve the quality of its programming.
Sunshine Radio has been broadcasting on 855AM since its inception in 1992, but the station’s management team has decided that it is time to move on to newer, more advanced technologies.
“We are excited to be moving forward with this change and we are committed to providing the best possible listening experience for our audience and this is an important step in that direction”, said Ginny Murfin CEO of Sunshine Radio.
Listeners in Gloucestershire can retune to 106.2FM and DAB Digital Radio as well as online and the Sunshine Radio app.
