Two people were taken to hospital after part of the ceiling fell inside a Toby Carvery restaurant in Brockworth yesterday evening.
The incident happened just after 6pm while diners were eating. Witnesses reported a loud crash as a large section of plaster came down, scattering debris across tables and chairs.
South Western Ambulance Service confirmed two patients were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, though their injuries are not thought to be serious.
Video from the scene shows dust filling the dining area, with plaster on the floor and light fittings left hanging.
The restaurant was immediately evacuated, and Toby Carvery later confirmed it had been closed as a precaution.
A sign outside on Monday said it would reopen the following day once safety checks and repairs had been carried out.
A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a small section of our Brockworth restaurant has been affected by damage to the ceiling. We apologise to all guests impacted and our care team will be contacting them directly.”
Emergency services have since confirmed the building is structurally safe.
