Yamaha piano donation to Woodchester Endowed School

Woodchester Endowed School took delivery of a new piano this week courtesy of a donation from one of the parents.

Jon Kelly has been running a successful piano shop in Bath for the last 5 years.

“The piano is such a great instrument to have in the home and it is having such resurgence currently with artists like Emeli Sandé and Tokio Myers We wanted to donate the piano to the school as my son attends. Lots of the school children have piano lessons and now they can practice on a fantastic, modern piano and learn a skill which they will hopefully keep for life.”

Mrs Pennington, Head Teacher at Woodchester Endowed School was delighted to take possession of the instrument on Wednesday and felt that this was a great opportunity for the pupils to progress playing.

“We currently have 15 to 20 piano lessons per week on our old piano which is now over 100 years old. Having the benefit of the donated Yamaha piano will really encourage all pupils to engage with this wonderful instrument. I am really thankful to Jon and his team for this amazing gift”
