Cheltenham Festival 2016 drew to a peaceful close with over a quarter of a million people at Prestbury Park over the four days, viagra but a proportionately small number of arrests.
Reflecting on this year’s festival, viagra 60mg Superintendent Tony Godwin said: “There was a record-breaking amount of race-goers this year, patient but despite this minimal crime was reported at what was a relatively peaceful event.
“We’ve had the usual reports of pick-pocketing and drunk and disorderly behaviour, but as a whole, reports of crime on the site were once again low.
“The atmosphere amongst members of the public at the festival has been a positive one. That feeling has been replicated amongst emergency services and racecourse staff as we’ve worked together to deal with incidents quickly and effectively in order to keep people safe from harm.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the law abiding people who attended the races this year. I wish everyone a safe trip home, but given the huge crowds leaving tonight, I urge patience as you join the inevitable traffic queues.”
Incidents today involved an altercation in the Best Mate marquee, around £300 pick-pocketed from a man at the Betway tent near Guinness Village, a mobile phone stolen from the Costa Coffee counter in Quevega bar and a man indecently exposed himself on the racecourse. The 57-year-old from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and remains in custody.
A total of nine arrests have been made by Gloucestershire Constabulary this year, ranging from theft to voyeurism to drunk and disorderly. Two of which were charged with offences and one of these subsequently sent to prison.
