Police have released a CCTV image of a male who officers would like to speak to in connection with a sexual assault in Gloucester.
Officers are investigating a report that a male had touched a 17-year-old girl beneath her clothing without her consent.
The male had been recognised by the girl, who had approached him to exchange pleasantries.
However, the male pulled the girl into a shop doorway, where he held her in a hug. He then attempted to kiss her, grabbed her body under her clothing and put his hand beneath her underwear.
She removed his hand and told him to stop, and a group of males also told him to stop and the girl was able to leave with her own group of friends.
The incident happened on Westgate Street, close to McDonald’s, between 7pm and 8pm on Wednesday 7 January.
Following a number of enquiries, officers would now like to speak to the male in the CCTV image in connection with the incident.
The girl did not know the male, but it is believed he is aged around 17 or 18.
