North Cotswolds Rotary held their Annual Charity Golf Day at Naunton Downs Golf Club on Friday 17th September. 2020 would have been the Silver Anniversary but it had to be cancelled because of Covid-19, so we celebrated it in 2021 instead.
It was particularly poignant for local Bourton resident Wayne Barker. Wayne’s partner Lynn died two years ago. Lynn was cared for during her last days at the Sue Ryder Hospice in Leckhampton. Her dying wish was that Wayne raise money for the hospice as a thank you for the wonderful care she received. Wayne helped North Cotswolds Rotary with the Charity Golf Day by recruiting five teams to take part, making a significant contribution to the £4,000 raised on the day.
15 teams took part in the four-ball Stableford tournament. The Brio trophy for the winning team was won by Keith Prout, Ade Basset, Connor O’Driscoll and Andy Hilder. Ian Williams won the Clifford & Webb Cup for the best score by a Rotarian.
North Cotswolds Rotary would like to thank Brio Retirement Living for their sponsorship of the event, staff at Naunton Golf Club for their excellent catering on the day and all the golfers who took part and made the event so successful.
