Community groups are being invited to apply for one-off funding from Forest of Dean District Council.
The 2015/16 community grants pot is now open for applications with a share of £19, site 800 available. Not for profit voluntary and community groups – both constituted and non-constituted – are welcome to apply.
Last year community grants helped buy a range of items and services including community noticeboards, riding hats, musical instruments, computer software and community sensory gardens with successful organisations ranging from lunch and support groups to recreation ground and village hall committees and groups of neighbours.
Tess Tremlett, Community Engagement Manager at Forest of Dean District Council said: “This is a real chance for local money to go to the community for projects which local people want to happen. They are aimed at building the capacity of the community rather than directly delivering services. We are particularly keen to receive applications from small informal groups.”
