Specialist dementia nurses will be in Cheltenham later this month offering free, confidential advice and guidance to anyone affected by the condition.
Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses will host clinics at the Nationwide branch on the High Street, Cheltenham, on 21, 22 and 23 October. The initiative is part of a national partnership between Nationwide and Dementia UK, designed to provide practical and emotional support for families living with dementia.
The clinics offer a safe and private space for people to discuss any aspect of the illness – from early worries about symptoms and getting a diagnosis to understanding how dementia can progress.
Sarah Cooper, Admiral Nurse at Dementia UK, said: “We’re looking forward to returning to the West Country to offer support and advice to families affected by dementia. These clinics give people the chance to speak one-to-one with a dementia specialist and get the reassurance they need.”
Appointments can be booked in advance via the Dementia UK website.
Nationwide said its wider programme has already supported more than 30,000 people across the UK.
