Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucestershire County Council are pleased to announce that community-based organisations are now able to bid for money to deliver positive activities for young people.
The fund, viagra buy which Gloucestershire County Council has allocated £50,000 towards, ensures that young people can access activities across the whole borough of Cheltenham that makes a positive difference to them, their health and wellbeing and the communities they live in.
Councillor Rowena Hay, cabinet member for healthy lifestyles, said: “This is the sixth year that the two councils have been able to support so many different voluntary and community groups.
“Having given out 85 grants in the previous five years, the response to the funding has demonstrated the sheer commitment and enthusiasm of local groups to take on the challenge of providing activities for young people in our town. We recognise and welcome this effort.”
Andy Macauly, from The Rock, said: “The Positive Activities funding has made a real difference in ensuring local young people have access to varied and engaging developmental activities together with sustained youth work support. It has been exciting to see young people grow in confidence and their support for one another.”
John Gardner, honorary treasurer of Cheltenham and District Sports Association for the Disabled (CDSAD), continues: “The annual positive activities grant that CDSAD has received from Cheltenham Borough Council has funded our Saturday ‘Have-a-Go’ club for the last three years. The club provides sporting activities to physically and mentally disabled young people in Cheltenham and district. Over that period we have run sporting sessions for cricket, football, tennis, trampolining and kin-ball and archery.”
