Who is the man in the stripy t-shirt?
That’s the question being posed by British Transport Police officers investigating the theft of a bag from a train travelling between Newport and Gloucester.
The theft happened at about 2.40pm on Sunday, salve 28 June, sales on board the 1.59pm Newport to Birmingham New Street service.
PC Jon Taylor said: “The victim got on the train at Newport and placed her bag in the luggage rack. As the train arrived at Gloucester a man reached into the rack, took the bag, and left the train.
“The bag was later found discarded in bushes outside Gloucester station, but some of the contents – including an iPad – had been taken.”
PC Taylor added: “We have conducted a number of enquiries since the incident and, as a result, have managed to recover an image of a man we think will have information about the theft. Now we need to know who he is.”
If you recognise the man, or have any information about the theft, please call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or ring Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. In all calls please quote log GSUB/B11 of 12/8/15.
