The South West’s largest festival of vintage transport is set to return this summer, as the Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza rolls back into South Cerney Airfield near Cirencester from Friday 31 July to Sunday 2 August 2026.
Tickets for the popular three-day event are now on sale, with organisers confirming that admission prices will once again be frozen — reinforcing the show’s reputation as one of the best-value family days out in the region.
Widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading steam, vintage and countryside festivals, the extravaganza promises a packed programme celebrating heritage vehicles alongside family entertainment and hands-on attractions.
Vintage transport brought to life
Visitors can expect to see hundreds of exhibits spanning every era of transport history, including steam engines, buses and coaches, military vehicles, classic cars and motorcycles, commercial and industrial trucks, tractors, vintage caravans and pushbikes. Classic plant machinery and other rare working vehicles will also be on display.
A defining feature of the show is that many exhibits are not simply static displays. Three live arenas host vehicle parades, working demonstrations and expert commentary throughout the weekend, allowing visitors to see historic machinery in action.
Highlights include heavy haulage and industrial machinery displays, American trucks, ex-emergency service vehicles and the ever-popular fire tender demonstrations — which organisers warn may leave spectators a little wet.
Family entertainment and countryside charm
Beyond vintage transport, the event offers a wide range of attractions designed to appeal to all ages. The Animal & Countryside Arena will feature the Teckels charity dog show, falconry displays and rare breeds exhibits.
Meanwhile, the Vintage Entertainment Tent will host live music, free dance lessons and retro fashion shows, giving visitors the chance to step back into a bygone era.
A large selection of trade stands, craft tents and a model village will also be on site, alongside an artisan food market offering a wide variety of food and drink. The popular We’ll Meet Again Tea Room is set to return, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere.
Charity steam-powered tractor trailer rides and free vintage bus rides around the showground will further add to the experience, ensuring there is something for everyone across the weekend.
Organisers say the event continues to support a range of local and national charities, many of which attend to raise funds and awareness.
With its mix of heritage vehicles, live entertainment and countryside activities, the Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza remains a firm fixture in the region’s summer events calendar.
