Local businesses are being invited to attend an event at Lydney Town Hall to hear about exciting plans for the future of the town.
On the 15 March, diagnosis guests will hear from keynote speakers about a new community economic plan for the town centre, vialis 40mg the importance of tourism jobs and apprenticeships to Lydney, the new ASDA supermarket development and the planned business investment from JD Norman.
Event organisers are looking to identify local champions or Lydney Leaders to help take forward ambitious plans to revitalise and rejuvenate the town centre.
The Town and District Councils are working in partnership using a Government sponsored programme to help shape ideas for the town centre and how these will result in positive economic, environmental and social outcomes for Lydney.
Patrick Molyneux, Leader of the Forest of Dean District Council, will be one of the speakers and said: “This is a timely event, at which I would like to send a clear message to Lydney’s businesses that their local authorities are working in a different way to support the town’s future. Lydney will be an engine for growth in the Forest and wider Gloucestershire and we want local businesses to thrive here and find the employees they need to be able to continue to grow and expand.”
Lydney Town Councillor, Brian Pearman said: “The Community Economic Development (CED) Plan springs from policies within the Lydney Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) relating to the town centre, Lydney being 1 of 30 community groups across the country to be selected to take part in this Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) sponsored project. It gives access to technical support to maximise the potential within the town by working with business, the wider community and partner organisations.”
Local businessman and owner of Club Ginger, Andy Horne said: “I am keen to be involved with this project and see this as a unique opportunity for those who have already invested in the town to have real involvement in shaping the rejuvenation of the town centre.”
