Gloucester City Council has installed a number of new interpretation boards within the Docks and also on Southgate Street which tell the story of the historic development of the City for both visitors and residents to enjoy.
It was agreed by Members as part of the City Centre Investment Fund in September 2011 that further boards were required at The Spa and within the new public realm created at Kimbrose Triangle.
Leader of Gloucester City Council, unhealthy Paul James said: “These boards have been installed to help bring the history of Gloucester to life providing information on St Kyneburgh’s Legend and Chapel, the roman southgate and the history and development of the Spa.”
“We have a fascinating varied history that stretches back 2,000 years. We have placed boards similar to this one at various locations around the City centre. They provide a glimpse into the architecture of the City and the people who lived and worked here.”
