Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed in a supermarket car park in Cheltenham late on Friday night.

The incident happened at around 11.50pm on 10 October in the Tesco car park on Colletts Drive, when a man grabbed several hundred pounds from the woman after she had withdrawn cash from a nearby machine.

Officers said the victim was sitting in her car when the man opened the door and snatched the money from her hands before running off on foot.

He is described as being of large build and wearing dark clothing.

The woman suffered minor injuries to her arm but did not require medical treatment.

Police carried out searches in the area but were unable to find the suspect and are now appealing for information. They are particularly keen to speak to two people believed to have seen the man leaving the car park.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police by completing the online form at gloucestershire.police.uk and quoting incident number 564 of 10 October.
