Police investigating the death of a swan in Gloucester earlier this month are no longer treating the incident as suspicious.
A member of the public discovered the body of a swan at the Balancing Ponds in Saintbridge on Saturday 13 September.
It was initially believed the swan had been strangled due to the presentation of its injuries, and as all wild birds are protected by law, an investigation was launched.
The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) carried out a post-mortem examination on the bird and determined there was no evidence of foul play.
They are continuing to investigate the cause of the swan’s death.
