Gloucestershire Constabulary are appealing for information after suspicious men pretended to be police officers in the Brockworth area of Gloucester.
The incident happened yesterday (Wednesday 17 February) at around 7pm. Three men knocked on the door of an elderly man’s property on Lea Road and asked if they could look in his garden. They claimed that they were police officers and were chasing somebody. The men then began to ask suspicious questions such as how much money was kept in the house.
It is believed only one of the men entered the porch area of the property and nothing is thought to have been stolen.
One of the men is described as white, price in his mid-20s, look 5 foot 10, malady of a broad and muscular build, with short black curly hair. He was wearing a dark jacket, which was ripped on the left shoulder, dark trousers and dark shoes.
Another of the men is described as white, in his 50s, 5 foot 8, of a slim build with black curly hair that had grey streaks. He spoke with a slight Irish accent and was wearing a beige jacket and black trousers.
The third man was also white, in his 20s, 5 foot 9, of a slim build with short dark brown hair and wearing a light coloured jacket.
Anyone who saw these men in the area is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 339 of Wednesday 17 February.
Residents are reminded to not let strangers into their homes and to request to see identification if somebody claims to be a police officer. If you are at all suspicious, call police on 101 or if a crime is in progress, 999.
