A woman died in a collision on the B4228 near Sling in the Forest of Dean yesterday.
Police were called shortly after 5.15pm with a report of a two-vehicle collision which involved a Mini and a Ford Fiesta.
This happened between the villages of Sling and St Briavels, near to The Orepool Inn.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the Mini, a woman aged in her 30s, died at the scene. Her next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
The driver of the Fiesta was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains there today, Saturday 29 January.
A collision investigation is ongoing and any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage and has not already spoken to police is asked to make contact.
