A man has suffered serious burns after being electrocuted in Gloucester this morning.
The man believed to a contractor working in Eastgate Street has suffered severe burns to his face, viagra leg and abdomen and has been taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he was transferred to air ambulance and flown to Cardiff Hospital.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Police told GNC: “Police were called to Eastgate Street at 09.43 after a contractor working in the road was injured in an apparent electrical incident. The area at the junction of Eastgate Street and Brunswick Road (outside Argos) has been closed and traffic is being diverted down Clarence Street. Paramedics are attending.”
650 properties in the GL1 area were without power following the incident. Western Power Distribution say power was restored to a number of properties by 11:30am.
The road remains closed while the Health & Safety Executive carry out investigation work.
