
A fire has erupted at the renowned The Black Bear pub in Tewkesbury’s High Street.
Shortly after 4pm, Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service reported two fire engines at the scene of the blaze. Crews were using hose-reel jets, breathing apparatuses and an aerial ladder platform to tackle the fire. At this stage the full extent of the damage remains unknown.
The Black Bear is a landmark in the town, originally founded in 1308 and considered the oldest pub in Gloucestershire.
High Street has been closed off while emergency services work to bring the incident under control, and passers-by are advised to avoid the area.
