
Gloucester City Homes Independent Living Service promotes health and wellbeing for older people and supports them to live independently across 500 sheltered housing properties in Gloucester and through the provision of an outreach support service to older people.
Four of the sheltered schemes are Wellbeing Centres with a focus on health and wellbeing based activities. The activities are open to both residents of the scheme as well as anyone over 55 in the area.
This Friday, hospital the 1st of May, buy cialis we are holding an Open Day at Badger Vale Court, ask one of the schemes, based in Podsmead. We would like to encourage those aged 55 and over to come along between 11.00am and 3.30pm to the Open Day to see how sheltered housing is changing.
On Friday there are a range of activities taking place. The ‘Manic Mile’ fitness challenge starts at 11.00am, followed by horse racing at noon and then an ongoing buffet style lunch from 12.30pm. After lunch, children from the local school are performing a May Pole Dance at 1.00pm. We will then start the afternoon at 1.30pm, with another horse race, followed by a keep fit session and a quiz.
There is another Open Day taking place at Charter Court in Victoria Street, on the 15th May between 2 and 4pm.
Sally Ashford, Wellbeing Coordinator at BVC says ‘We are running this open day as a casual way for those over 55 in the City to understand the services and activities that are available. This will be a fun packed day, with activities to suit everyone.
