Police are appealing for information after a man assaulted another man in Gloucester city centre on Saturday night.
Officers were called to a report of an altercation involving three men on Southgate Street, close to the Cross Keys Pub, at around 11.15pm.
On arrival, they found a man in his 50s who was unconscious. He was treated at the scene before being taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
It was reported that two men had argued with the victim while in the Cross Keys Pub earlier in the evening.
They followed the victim when he left the pub before one of them punched him, causing him to fall to the ground.
The suspect is described as being white, around 5ft 11in in height, with short cropped spikey hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
Both the men had already left the scene when officers arrived. Police searched the area and conducted house-to-house enquiries, before viewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses on the scene.
They would now like to talk to anyone who may have seen the lead up to the incident or who may have any other information, and who has not already spoken to police.
