GLOUCESTER CROWN COURT

Marvin Anderson, remedy 34, cialis from Jasmine Close, remedy Abbeydale in Gloucester, and Michael Daniels, 67, from Lawrence Road, Cirencester were both sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday 7th August for their part in a conspiracy to supply controlled drugs.

Marvin Anderson was sentenced to five years and six months and Michael Daniels was sentenced to two years.

Passing sentence the Judge, HHJ Tabor, commented that the men had tried to be sophisticated in their activity by swapping mobile telephones regularly and taking other precautions, however despite this, officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary were able to observe a number of suspicious meetings between the defendants during the summer of 2014.

On 3rd September 2014 police observed Daniels travel to Gloucester and briefly meet with Anderson.  When his vehicle was halted by police as it returned to Cirencester he was found to be in possession of three ounces of cocaine.  A short time later Anderson was also arrested from his own vehicle.

Mr Daniels’s son, Jason Daniels, 44, from Siddington, Cirencester was also arrested that day and had pleaded guilty in Court to his part in the conspiracy but was found dead in Cirencester on 23rd June (in circumstances believed to be non-suspicious), the day before the group were originally due to be sentenced.

Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Matt Phillips said:

“Jason and Michael Daniels had been sourcing drugs from Marvin Anderson for a long time on a “little and often” basis to distribute in and around Cirencester.

“Clearly they had hoped that, by avoiding dealing in larger, single quantities of drug they would not face a long prison sentence if they were arrested.  A lot of hard work and effort went into showing just how frequently the group were meeting and over time how much cocaine that would involve.  I would like to thank all the officers and staff who were involved.

“This investigation shows that Gloucestershire Constabulary are committed to making our communities safer by targeting those who want to deal in drugs.

“We are pleased with the sentences that were handed down and hope they serve as a deterrent to anyone else connected with drug dealing.  If anyone has information about people dealing drugs in Gloucestershire I would urge them to contact us on 101 or, if they prefer, to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”
