In celebration of National Older Person’s Day, unhealthy Gloucester City Homes’ (GCH) Equality and Diversity Group held a 50’s style Tea Dance.
Held at the Redwell Centre, ask the event attracted people from across Gloucester. Plenty of cakes, scones and cups of tea were enjoyed alongside a selection of music, entertainment and dancing. Tenant, Phil Brain who has been taking ukulele lessons with GCH also performed some old classics which quickly had everyone singing.
Many of the people who attended thoroughly enjoyed the event and said that they would have otherwise been at home and wouldn’t have been doing much on the Friday afternoon. This positive feedback shows the importance of such events to encourage older people to get involved, helping to prevent isolation.
